Class Participation |
20% |
Attend the class and have discussions with your classmates for some class exercises. Be active in class by asking questions and giving your opinions. Also, at the end of each class, you need to submit the attendance/feedback form online. |

Homework |

Show what you have learned in your portfolio on each topic by taking notes in class, jotting down new/complex vocabulary, making practice sentences, etc. Be creative! |

Weekly Quiz |
20% |
At the beginning of each class, everyone will take 10-15 minutes to play ”Kahoot” conducted by the TA. The top three winners will get extra points in this category. The purpose of having the weekly quiz is to help the students know what we have learned from the previous week and also encourage them to review the materials. |

Team Presentation |
15% |
Form a MIXED team of at most 4 people. In the team, you need different genders, majors, and years. From Week 3, one team will be completely in charge of the third hour. During that hour, the team will take the role as a teacher to facilitate activities and conversations with covered topics from previous classes for reinforcement of knowledge and gaining leadership skills. This is to demonstrate the communication abilities learned along the way. The team can hold any creative activities or games to review one of the covered topics. |

Other Team Evaluation |

From your team presentation, each student will give scores (-5 to 5) to your team based on the creativity of the presentation. |

Peer Evaluation |
5% |
From your team presentation, you will give points (-5 to 5) to your teammates according to their contribution to this project. |
7. |
Final – Team Podcast |
25% |
Each team will host a 15 minute podcast with the instructor. The topic is randomly drawn right before the performance. |
